Engame has no accounts and never asks for your name, email or phone number. This page lists everything the site stores or sends, and how to turn analytics off.
1. What stays on your device
localStorage: your learning progress (words learned, review schedule, scores, game records), your settings (interface language, dark mode, sound) and your analytics choice. It never leaves your browser and we cannot read it.
IndexedDB (eq_cache): a copy of the course data (word lists, phrases) so the app opens faster next time.
Service worker cache: the app's own files, so it works offline after your first visit.
To delete all of it, clear this site's data in your browser settings (for example Chrome: Settings → Privacy and security → Site settings → engame.io.vn → Delete data). This also resets your progress.
2. Analytics
Microsoft Clarity records how pages are used (clicks, scrolling, anonymised session replays and heatmaps) so we can find bugs and confusing screens. It sets cookies such as _clck and _clsk. Text you type is masked. See the Microsoft Privacy Statement.
Neither is used to show ads. Engame has no advertising.
3. How to opt out
Press the button below to stop loading both analytics tools in this browser. The choice is saved in localStorage, so it applies until you clear site data. If your browser sends the Global Privacy Control signal, analytics are already off.
Blocking cookies or using a tracker blocker also works.
4. Services that receive text, not personal data
Pronunciation: the word or sentence to be read aloud is sent through our server to a text-to-speech service (Microsoft or Google).
Translation: interface text and word meanings missing in your language are sent through our server to a translation service (Google Translate or MyMemory). Results are cached so the next learner gets them instantly.
Speaking practice: when you use the microphone, your browser's built-in speech recognition handles the audio. In Chrome this is processed by Google. Engame never receives or stores the recording.
Abuse protection: our server counts requests per IP address for one minute to stop automated abuse. The count is then deleted.
Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, which receives your IP address like any web request.
5. Links to other sites
Some study pages link to courses or books on other sites, including affiliate links. Those sites have their own privacy policies and may set their own cookies after you click.
6. Children
Engame is suitable for learners of any age because it collects no personal data. Parents who prefer no analytics at all can use the opt-out button above.
